Cinnamon Grand’s Finance Tuskers – B and Kitchen Culinary Champs won the men’s and women’s Championship trophies respectively, at the hotel’s annual Inter Departmental Cricket Sixes tournament, held recently at the Colombo Colts grounds.

After several rounds of nail-biting matches between 30 fiercely competitive teams, the Finance Tuskers emerged overall Champions, with the Angsana Pain Killers coming in as Runners Up. The Kitchen Culinary Champs women’s team once again showed their talents by defeating Sales Force in the final round to win the 2018 Women’s Cricket Sixes Championship Trophy.

Madu Samarasinghe of Sales Force was adjudged the Woman of the Tournament, scoring 151 runs with 15 sixes, while Ramesh Peiris of Angsana Pain Killers, who scored 345 runs with 54 sixes and 08 wickets, was named Man of the Tournament.

Denuka Costa of Finance Tuskers was named Man of the Final, Amila Jayasena of F&B Avengers was named Best Bowler, Ramesh Peiris of Angsana Pain Killers was named Best Batsman, and Janudika Sriyapala of Finance Tuskers was named Best Fielder. In addition, the General Manager’s special award was given to the Kitchen Stewarding Men’s team.

Over 500 associates gathered at the grounds to cheer on their teams, while enjoying a grand day of cricket, complete with tasty food, music and beverages. Several fun competitions were also held to ensure the participation of the spectators.
