Technocity is powering the Sri Lanka’s ICT Industry Cricket Championship 2019 organised by the Federation of IT Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS).  This event is much-awaited by the ICT industry and FITIS has been organising it for the last 13 consecutive years.

Speaking about the event, FITIS Hardware Chapter President Fazloon Sheriff said: “This is a very popular event organised by FITIS. More than 100 teams and 7,000 visitors are attracted to the Cricket Championship every year. It will be a more glamorous event with ICT Queen Contest, DJ music giving greater enjoyment for the visitors and participants this time facilitating more networking opportunities among ICT industry peers. I sincerely thank all the sponsors and partners who came forward to support this industry endeavour.”

Technocity has come forward to support the event as the main sponsor. Expressing his views on this partnership, The Technocity Managing Director/Founder Chairman Mohamed Fahmy Ismail said: “We are indeed happy to be the Main Sponsor for the ICT Industry Annual Cricket Championship 2019 organised by FITIS. The Technocity began its humble journey in 1988 and with a retail outlet mainly focused on networking products. Our vision was to enable every Sri Lankan to acquire latest technologies at an affordable cost, as it was launched globally. Over the last decade, we at Technocity have been able to provide the majority of IT hand-held products to the Sri Lankan consumers, through our strong network of partners spread across the island.”

The ICT Industry Annual Cricket Championship is one of the largest networking events organised by FITIS enabling to connect all stakeholders together in a single forum. Government stakeholders, decision makers, business people, employees and their family members are invited to take part at the tournament. There are parallel activities organised to keep the enthusiasm of all levels of people while adding more glamour to the event. Hence, every year more than 100 teams from ICT companies register to play cricket.
