Ted heads CR in Centenary year

Former Royal College skipper (1982), Kandy SC, CR and FC and Sri Lankan player Ted Muttiah was re-elected for the third year in tandem as the President of Ceylonese Rugby and Football Club at their 93rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) which took place at their Club house on 17 June.

Ted played for the Reid Avenue outfit from 1980 to 82 leading in his last year. After leaving school he turned out for the Kandy SC for one year before shifting to the Red Shirts outfit in 1983. In 1984 he was elected for the Rugby Asiad which took place in Japan (Fukoka). He scored two magnificent tries on his debut for the national outfit against Malaysia.

Former Trinity College cricket and rugby skipper (1980), CR and FC player Tikiri Ellapola will be their Deputy President. Tikiri started playing for Trinity in 1978 and went on to lead the outfit in his last year. He was also a Ryde Gold Medalist (Best All Round Student) at Trinity. Former Joes, Jakque Diasz will continue with the vital Secretary position of the Red Shirts.
