Tharindu Wickramasinghe continues dominance with back to back wins

Former Ananda College Planter and one of the top-class golfers, Tharindu Wickramasinghe continued his impressive run of form, securing the Overall Winner’s title at May 2024 Monthly Medal event held at the prestigious Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) in Rajawella recently.

This latest victory marks Wickramasinghe’s second monthly medal triumph in tandem, showing his remarkable consistency and skill on the greens at Rajawella. After missing out in the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club events earlier this month due to personal reasons, showed no less in form on the green, which is familiar to him in the Central Region.

In the Nett Winner for Gents segment, Derrick Ponnambalam emerged victorious, delivering yet another top-class performance that earned him the top spot pushing Nadeshan Krishnakumar to the runner up in the same event.

On the Ladies’ side, Jade Jiggens claimed the Nett Winner title, demonstrating her growing power in the course in the VGR.

The Gross Winner Gents category was won by Nirwan Hettiarachchi, who showed his exceptional golfing abilities with a dominant display. Stephan Bateman was the runner up in this segment. In the Ladies Gross it was Rudrani Devidas won the event.

Nearest to the PIN was won by Manjula Chandrasoma.

The tournament, which drew a talented field of golfers, once again highlighting the high level of competition and the pursuit of excellence that characterises the local golfing community.
