The Matale Thomians Hockey Sevens tournament for boys will take place at Edward Park on 3June

Union Bank won their first encounter of the tournament against Lion Brewery Ceylon Plc at the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) ‘F’ Division 2018 cricket tournament by 43 runs. 

The match was played on 13 May at the Mercantile Cricket Association Grounds.  

Prageeth Dilshan of Union Bank scored 50 runs for 38 balls while Ayeshan Perera scored 33 and Chathura Madushanka 25 (not out). Shivantha Kumara contributed four wickets for 16 runs while Chathura Madushanka and Waruna Randeniya secured two wickets each. 

The Union Bank team comprised Malinda Sandaruwan (Captain), Prageeth Dilshan, Ayeshan Perera, Kushan Akalanka, Shiwantha Kumara, Waruna Randeniya, Indunil Priyantha, Anjana Mahawatte,

Chathura Madushanka, Sumedha Malaka and Umesh Masakkara.  

Reserve players: Sasika Liyanage, Hari Prasath, Heshan Thenuwara, Ashain Perera, Kogul Rav and Chamila Lakshan.
