Rahula College Matara crushed Hartley College Point Pedro by eight wickets at the Uyanwatta Stadium on Saturday (16) and retained the Manimaran-Wijesiriwardena trophy for the fifth consecutive time.

In a match reduced to 10 overs per side due to damp ground conditions at the Uyanwatta stadium, being invited to bat first Hartley College was restricted to 32/8. Janiru Wijewardena captured four wickets for four runs in his two overs and was named the best bowler as well as the man of the match while Resali Nethvindu captured two wickets and Sasinu Battage captured one wicket.

Chasing 33 to win, Rahula reached the target with eight wickets in hand and 20 balls to spare. Gevindu Imeth Manamperi anchored the innings with an unbeaten run a ball 22 to be named as the best batsman

Hartley College skipper Gnaneswaran Abishanth was named the best fielder.
