Thilina slapped with 4-year ban

Former Dharmaraja, Kandy SC and national player Thilina Wijesinghe has been banned for four years after he was tested positive for using banned substances. He was tested on 1 August in 2019.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Anti-Doping Agency has found him guilty and accordingly the world body (World Rugby) and the local body (Sri Lanka Rugby) has imposed the ban on him effective from 21 August 2019 to 20 August 2023.

During this period, Thilina is unable to take part in any sports activity or coaching.

He is likely to appeal against his decision. He was the top points scorer in club rugby last season. He left Kandy SC last season to join CH & FC during the 2020/2021 rugby season.
