Thomians and Vidyartha strong contenders for promotion

Singer League 2018 Round Two

The Singer League 2018 Round Two will kick off with a week’s break with the much anticipated Plate competition heating up between the top four teams in 1B and an equal number of teams from 1A who got demoted after their first round.

The Thomians and Antonians along with the Rajans and DS were demoted while Maliyadeva, Lumbini, Science, and Vidyartha will have a go at them in this vital second round.

This segment will see the top four teams out of the eight getting their berths booked for Singer League 1A in 2019.

Group A – S. Thomas’, St. Anthony’s, Science, and Vidyartha

Group B – DS, Dharmaraja, Maliyadeva, and Lumbini

Singer League 1A will be headed by Royal who look set to retain the trophy once again under Shabith Feroze. They will have Peterites and Pathana to deal with as the rest of the two matches will be another thumping win for the Reid Avenue outfit that is coached by former Sri Lankan, CR&FC, and Kandy SC player Dushantha Lewke. The Peterites are coached by veteran Sanath Martis.
