Thomian centre Seneshka Liyanage on an attacking way

A good second half rally by Zahira was a bit too late for a comeback as the Thomians beat the lads from Maradana 27/20 in the Dialog President's Trophy Knockout Rugby quarter final encounter which concluded at the Premadasa Stadium on Saturday.
At the short breather Thomians led 20/8.
Thomians played well in the initial half, but Zahira made a strong comeback in the later half through 2 tries to level the scores at 20 a piece, but Thomians sealed the win with a late try in the 60th minute of the game to secure their semi-final berth against Isipathana College.

In the second Premier Trophy quarter final encounter Prince of Wales edged out St Benedict’s 13/12 at the same venue.
Now the semi-finals will be worked off in all formats at the Royal Sports Complex on 7 and 8 September with the final encounters moving back to Sugathadasa Stadium once more. In the first semi-final of the President Trophy encounter defending champions, St. Peter’s will lock horns with Wesley College.
