Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the remainder of their white-ball series in South Africa after sustaining a toe injury.

Shadab will also miss the upcoming series against Zimbabwe after injuring his toe while batting during the second ODI against South Africa.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the injury will put Shadab on the sidelines for at least four weeks, during the course of which he’ll undergo rehabilitation.

“X-rays conducted following the match revealed an ‘intraarticular communicated fracture’ though there is neither any displacement nor angulation,” the PCB said in a statement. “The injury will be treated conservatively and Shadab will undergo a four-week rehab.”

Shadab has had a troublesome time with injuries recently. Late last year, he missed the white-ball series against Zimbabwe with a groin injury. He also suffered a thigh injury that ruled him out of the New Zealand Tests thereafter, as well as the home series against South Africa.

Pakistan and South Africa face each other in the series-deciding ODI today. That will be followed by a four-match T20I series, after which Pakistan will visit Zimbabwe for three T20Is and two Tests.
