Captains of the eight clubs that have qualified to play in the quarter-finals of the SLC Major Club T20 tournament will pray for bright weather and a complete finish to their matches for otherwise, any interference by bad weather and the match ending in a no-result or abandonment will result in the toss of a coin deciding the winner.

Usually it is the toss of the coin that gets a match started, but in this instance it will play a crucial role in the elimination of a strong team from the semi-finals and finals.

No captain would like to progress in a competition by just a toss of a coin, but the circumstances are such that they have no choice but to abide by it.

Even to decide the two finalists any interference from the weather in the semi-finals will also result in the toss of a coin as per the Playing Conditions laid down for the Major Club T20 tournament.

In the case of an interrupted match, a minimum of six overs need to be bowled per side to decide on the winner.

The quarter-finals have already undergone two postponements due to the adverse weather. It was first scheduled for 21 May but was postponed to Sunday 26 May after the Vesak holidays and then again to 29 May. The semi-finals have been re-scheduled for 31 May and the final for 3 June.

The quarter-final draw for today:

At P Sara Oval: NCC v Colts (9.45 am); Bloomfield v CCC (2 pm)

At SSC: Moors SC v Ace Capital CC (9.45 am); Tamil Union v BRC (2 pm)

The semi-finals will take place on 31 May and the final on 3 June both at the SSC.
