Travel Trade Sports Club bowling results

New comers, Baraque Travels Ltd., made a memorable entrance by winning the 20th edition of the Travel Trade Sports Club (TTSC) Bowling Championship 2023, concluded on 11 November at the Strikes Cosmic Bowling Centre, Excel World, Colombo 10.

40 teams from 23 TTSC member firms participated. As per previous tournament, Exotic Holidays International “B” team retained the Silver and Aitken Spence Travels “A” team retained the Bronze. 

The 40 players were divided into four groups (09 x 4 + 4) and were given one round of bowling, nine players simultaneously performing on the nine lanes which were available. 

At the completion of the first round (40 matches), the top scoring 18 players advanced to the second round, which were divided into two batches of nine each, once again performing simultaneously on nine lanes.

At the completion of the second round, the top scoring nine teams advanced to the third and final round with the following placing: 

  • 9th Place – Whittalls Boustered “B” (202)
  • 8th Place - Walkers Tours “B” (303)
  • 7th Place - Holiday Plan DMC (312)
  • 6th Place - Walkers Tours “A” (336) 
  • 5th Place - ITQ Lanka “Legends” (376)

4th Place - Aitken Spence Travels “B” (393)

  • Bronze Winner – Aitken Spence Travels “A” (396) (Sameera Jansen (132), Sasindu Welaratne (136) and Lalin Sumanasinghe (128).
  • Silver Winner – Exotic Holidays International “B” (404) (M. Nabeel 116, Hasitha Hettiarachchi 143, Rizwan Mannan 145)
  • Gold Winner – Baraque Travels (429) (Hussain Khaleel 129, Fairoos Safeedeen 124, Mohamed Ihthisham 176)

     
  • Special Awards: 

Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament/Men: Mohamed Ihthisham from Baraque Travels (a grand total of 483 points from 03 rounds); Best Player/Women: Kanchana Malluwawadu from ITQ Lanka “Legends” ( 227 points in the Final round)

Awards were given away by the TTSC Officials, President Anil Hapugoda, VP Dilshan Gnanapragasam, Tournament Co-ordinators Lalin Sumanasinghe and Kanishka Udawatte
