Trico Logistics Ltd., a leading force in the logistics and export industry, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a grand event that underscores its commitment to fostering industry relationships and teamwork.

The Export Facilitating Centre (EFC) will host the EFC Cricket Sixes on 11 August at the St. Benedict’s College Grounds, commencing at 7 a.m. This event will bring together key stakeholders from various sectors within the logistics and export industry.

Founded in 2014, Trico Logistics Ltd. has played a pivotal role in Sri Lanka’s export sector. Over the past decade, the company has grown to become a significant player in the logistics industry, facilitating smooth operations across the supply chain.

The EFC Cricket Sixes will feature 33 matches played in a single day, a unique format designed to promote camaraderie and team spirit among participants. This high-energy tournament will see teams composed of professionals from various roles within the logistics and export sectors, including forwarders, shippers, and transporters.

Trico Logistics Ltd. Director Lakmin Kannangara said: “Each participant plays a crucial role in the supply chain, and this event is about bringing these players together to celebrate their collective efforts. We have customised the event to reflect the professional standards of our industry, with a focus on discipline and punctuality.”

The export sector has been instrumental in supporting Sri Lanka’s economy, particularly in recent years. According to the Sri Lanka Export Development Board, the country’s export revenue in 2023 was approximately $ 14 billion, contributing significantly to the national GDP. Despite challenges such as political instability and global economic fluctuations, the export industry has remained resilient, driven by key players like Trico Logistics Ltd.

In the face of global economic uncertainties, the logistics sector has been a backbone of the Sri Lankan economy. The sector facilitates the movement of goods across borders, contributing to economic stability and growth. The EFC Cricket Sixes aims to highlight the importance of this sector and strengthen the relationships between its key players.

Looking ahead, Trico Logistics Ltd. plans to expand the tournament in future years. The company aims to increase the number of participating teams from 10 to 24, reflecting the growing interest and engagement in the event.

Kannangara said: “Our goal is to continue fostering industry relationships and celebrating the achievements of our sector.”

Beyond the competition, the EFC Cricket Sixes is about building camaraderie among industry professionals. Kannangara emphasised: “Despite the competitive nature of business, it is essential for us to work together and support each other. This event provides an opportunity for industry professionals to connect and collaborate outside of the business environment.”
