Trinity College Boxing meet runner up

Trinity College Boxing team emerged Runners-Up at the 46th L.V. Jayaweera All Island Boxing meet which took place at the Jayathilake Stadium in Nawalapitiya recently. Another school from Kandy, Vidyartha College, became champions at this event.

Vidyartha won two Gold medals, one Silver and one Bronze while Trinity took home two Gold medals and one Silver at this event in the up country which saw 58 schools participating with over 400 boxers vying for honours.

Ryan Weerasekera and Ataab Manzil both won Gold medals while Mohamed Aathif walked away with the Silver medal for Trinity.

The following participated for Trinity: Hassan Fowzie, Hussain Fowzie, Murad Raizan, Ryan Weerasekara, Attaab Manzil, Bhanuka Samarakoon and Mohommed Aathif.

The team was coached by Susantha Weerasena and assisted by Lahiru Senaratne with Aslam Marrikar being the MIC.
