Trinity and Rajans win Golden Star

Trinity College won the Under-14 Golden Star award for the third consecutive year at the 17th All-island Inter-school Hockey Carnival which took place at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy recently.

Trinity beat Janadhipathi Vidyalaya 2-1, Guruthalawa Thomians 1-0, Mahinda Galle 1-0 and drew 0-0 against D.S. Senanayake College Colombo. Trinity, coached by Sandun Liyanage, have retained the Golden Star award from 2015 onwards. 

The Rajans also showed fine form beating Asoka Vidyalaya 1-0, Hindu College 2-0 and Badulla Central 1-0 to be awarded the Golden Star at the same tournament. (SJ)
