Trinity and Thomians play in annual hockey encounter

Both Trinity College and S'Thomas College, Mount Lavinia will play in the 17th annual hockey encounter on 2 September at the Asgiriya International Cricket Stadium.

The series between the two schools started in the year 2003 with Tivanka Wijerathna leading the Thomians while Trinity was led by Anfas Mohamed in the initial year. No tournaments took place in 2004, 2007, 2020 and 2021. 

The Under-16 encounter will be played for B S G Shayam Challenge Shield, Old Boys encounter played for Mirzan Ousmand Challenge Trophy while the Under-19 encounter worked off for the Warden Neville de Alwis Memorial Shield. 

Under-16 encounter will take place at 2 p.m. while the Old Boys encounter will be played at 3 p.m. while the Under-19 encounter will be played at 4 p.m.

Chief Guest will be East West PLC Executive Chairman Nahil Wijesuriya.
