The Old Trinitians secured a triumphant 6.5/3.5 victory against their rivals, the Old Royalists, at the 9th Bradby Golf encounter held on Friday, 6 September, at the Victoria Golf Resort (VGR). Powered by NDB Bank, the event saw Trinity College, led by Suren Vaas, successfully defend the G.C. Wickramasinghe Memorial Trophy, continuing their dominance in this traditional rivalry.

The Ryder Cup-styled match play format brought excitement to the contest, with both teams showing immense skill and sportsmanship. The encounter, named in honour of the late G.C. Wickramasinghe, a prominent member of the 1956 Royal Rugby Team, has grown into a much-anticipated event, fostering friendly competition and alumni unity.

Alongside the main event, the Victoria Cup was played in a Stableford scoring format, encouraging more old boys from both Trinity and Royal to participate and share in the camaraderie.

As the official partner, NDB Bank is proud to have supported this prestigious encounter and congratulates the Old Trinitians on their hard-fought win. The event not only showcased exceptional golfing talent but also reinforced the enduring bonds between the two schools. NDB Bank remains committed to supporting traditions that celebrate sportsmanship, loyalty, and heritage.

The match concluded with an awards ceremony, where the G.C. Wickramasinghe Memorial Trophy was ceremoniously handed over to the victorious Old Trinitians. This was followed by a lively fellowship session where participants and invitees from both schools came together to celebrate the day’s achievements, further strengthening the bonds between the two schools.
