Trinity meets Royal in 125th cricketing encounter

Trinity College will host Royal College in their 125th cricket encounter, which will take place at the Asgiriya Stadium today and tomorrow.

Trinity Principal Andrew Fowler-Watt, Vice Principal, former Royal skipper and former Trinity Head Coach Shaw Wilson and Prefect of Games Shane de Silva are in charge of this event.

Two former skippers, M.T.M. Zarook of Trinity and Dr. Ranjith de Silva of Royal, will be the chief guests with breakfast starting at 8.30 a.m. Both schools first met in 1893.

Trinity is led by national youth player Hasitha Boyagoda with another national player Thishuru Dilshan in the starting line-up while the Royal outfit is led by PasanSooriyabandara.

Trinity is coached by Old Boy Kavinda Jayasuriya and Royal by Thilina Kandambi. (SJ)
