Two ComBank Mastercard credit cardholders off to Rugby World Cup in Japan

Two of Commercial Bank of Ceylon’s Mastercard credit cardholders have won the dream prize of any rugby enthusiast – an all-expenses-paid trip to Yokohama, Japan to watch this weekend’s semi-finals of the 2019 Rugby World Cup between New Zealand and England. 

U.P. Wasantha Perera of Piliyandala and Anuradha Jayatilake of Dehiwala received their prizes this week, each comprising a ticket to the first semi-final of the Rugby World Cup and a package inclusive of visa fees, return air fare, hotel accommodation and transportation. 

The lucky winners were drawn from thousands of Commercial Bank Mastercard credit cardholders who spent an average of Rs. 25,000 per month for purchases between 1 April and 30 June this year, to participate in a promotion conducted by Mastercard in Sri Lanka.

The ninth Rugby World Cup now on in Japan, ends 2 November. This is the first time the tournament is being held in Asia.
