Visiting University Technology Sydney (UTS) outfit was too strong and in supreme class when they beat the Peterite rugby outfit 40/5 in the Cup final of the St. Peter’s College Centenary International Under-20 Rugby Sevens 2023 which was worked off at Bambalapitiya yesterday.
At the short breather winners led 21/5. Winners were too strong as they crossed the hosts try line on no less than 6 times while the Peterites could reply with only one try.
Five overseas teams and nine teams from Sri Lanka participated in the inaugural sevens event which was organised by the Peterites who are celebrating their Centenary year in 2023.
Zahira College won the Bowl beating Lumbiini while Dubai College A won the Plate edging out the visiting Negri outfit from Malaysia.
