Udeshika guides Warriors to first win

Sri Lanka Women’s cricketer Udeshika Prabodhani lent a helping hand in Warriors securing their first win of the ongoing Fairbank Invitation Women’s T20 tournament in Dubai when they beat Barmy Army by 54 runs.Warriors batting first ran up a total of 156-6 courtesy of half-centuries from Hayley Mathews of West Indies and Mignon du Preez who top scored with an unbeaten 75 to take the Player of the match award.

Barmy Army were restricted to a score of 102-8 with Udeshika capturing two wickets for 17 runs with her left-arm medium-paced deliveries and Hayley two for five.

In another match Falcon suffered their third defeat when they lost to Tornadoes by seven wickets.

Sri Lanka Women’s captain Chamari Athapaththu made 20 off 15 balls (2 sixes, 1 four) in Falcon’s total of 138-4. Tornadoes topped the total to win with four balls to spare.
