Uruthirapuram Sports Club wins Pan Asia Cup Soccer Tournament 2019

The Pan Asia Cup Soccer Tournament 2019, sponsored by Pan Asia Bank, concluded successfully on 30 November at the Uthayatharakai football grounds in Paravipanchan, Kilinochchi. The trophy was won by the Uruthirapuram Sports Club, who outperformed other teams to emerge winner with an impressive 3-0 win. The exciting tournament was organised by Pan Asia Bank Kilinochchi Branch, joining hands with Security Forces Head Quarters Killinochchi, with the view of encouraging local community engagement and assisting to strengthen inter-relations between the Forces and the general public. This well-attended event witnessed the participation of 24 registered football clubs in Kilinochchi, with the coordination of the local Football League in the region. 

The week-long tournament commenced with the draw matches while the final was held on 30th November between Uruthirapuram Sports Club (Kilinochchi) and Jegameedpar Sports Club Valaipadu. A gala prize giving ceremony was held on the final day of the tournament with the occasion being graced by Pan Asia Bank Senior Deputy General Manager Chief Guest Naleen Edirisinghe, along with Special Guest Commander of Sri Lanka Army Kilinochchi Major General Ravi Priya. Also present were Pan Asia Bank Area Manager (North) Rajaratnam Kulendiran, Chief Manager J. Umaharan (PCU), and Branch Managers and staff members from the Northern region. 

The Pan Asia Soccer Tournament drew to a close with a special program by the Army consisting of a thrilling fireworks display and Angampora skills. This event was a testament to Pan Asia Bank’s commitment to engage actively with local communities and support them to reach their full potential.
