Veteran golfers Chalitha and Uchitha to represent Sri Lanka

Two veteran amateur golfers, Chalitha Pushpika and Uchitha Ranasinghe are set to represent Sri Lanka at the 37th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship which will take place at the end of January.

The inclusion of Chalitha Pushpika and Uchitha Ranasinghe in the Sri Lankan contingent comes on their impressive performance at the trials held last week, securing the coveted spots to showcase their talent on the international stage. Both players are seasoned amateur golfers with a wealth of experience, having participated in notable tournaments in countries such as Pakistan and Malaysia last year.

Uchitha Ranasinghe, currently ranked 1000th in the World Amateur Ranking, brings a wealth of skill and expertise to the team. Meanwhile, Chalitha Pushpika holding a respectable 1058th position in the world rankings. Both athletes are no strangers to high-stakes competitions and are poised to make a significant impact at the upcoming championship.

Joining Pushpika and Ranasinghe is Chanaka Perera, who will be participating as a private entry. Together, these three individuals will carry the hopes and aspirations of the Sri Lankan golfing community, aiming to leave an indelible mark on the 37th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship.

Sri Lanka Golf was to send two gents and equal number of ladies for this event but unfortunately the top two players, Reshan Algama (gents) and Kaya Daluwatte (ladies) both being unavailable for the Bangladesh tour. Reshan is unavailable due to his academic activities while Kaya is away in India and will be playing in Thailand Golf Tournament at the same time.
