Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) will host the Annual Club Championship 2018 on 22 and 23 September at their beautiful course at Rajawella in Digana. Shamal Perera and Louise Huxtable will defend the Men’s and Women’s titles at this event which is expected to have more than 70 participants. Tee off is scheduled at 7 a.m. both days.
Voted one of the 100 most beautiful courses in the world and number one in the Asian subcontinent, the par 73, 6933-yard championship course was designed in 1997 by the internationally acclaimed golf course architect Donald Steel to U.S.P.G.A. standards.
VGCR Club Championship tournament is one of the most prestigious club events and is a Board Event at Victoria Golf & Country Resort. Members from all over the country, from overseas, will be vying for the title of ‘Club Champion’ at the annual club championship. The two day 18-hole event will test the ability of all players and ensure that a worthy Champion emerges also the Blue ribbon in the Golf calendar.
