Victoria Gregory Derby to tee off today

The 4th Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) and Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) Derby will tee off today (14 October) at the Victoria Golf resort Golf Course in Rajawella.

Ladies tee-off is expected to be at 7.15 a.m. while the Gents will have their starting time fixed at 8.15 a.m.

Kanchana Wickremasinghe will lead VGR, while Nayana Dehigama leads NEGC. Ladies outfit of NEGC will be led by Ahalya Rajan while Niloo Jayathilake is in charge of VGR.

In the initial year 2017, NEGC Gents won the event, while the following year, VGR regained the trophy, winning both the Ladies and Gents events. The last tournament in the series was played in 2019, which saw NEGC win both the Ladies and Gents events. Each team will have 32 members with 9 ladies in one unit.
