The first Semi-Final encounter of the Milo President’s Trophy 2019 will be worked off between Wesley College and Vidyartha College at the Royal Sports Complex today.
Kick-off is scheduled at 4 p.m.
Both Wesley and Vidyartha received walkovers from S. Thomas and Royal in their quarter final encounters as both schools pulled out citing Advanced Level examinations for a majority of their players. Meanwhile Vidyartha who did well in the Plate encounters will be the dark horse in this event. Vidyartha is coached by their old boy, Navy and National player Sumedha Malawena. Kingswood who won the Plate segment went down to St. Peter’s in their quarter final encounter. Meanwhile Wesley who performed some giant killing efforts, beating Joes and almost humbling Royal, have a strong outfit under their skipper – Mursheed Zubair, Dexter Goonatilake and Jenosha Mendis are some top class players in their ranks. Wesley has a strong three quarter line while the lads from the Hills are stronger in their forwards who are mobile.
