Vidyartha outclass Ananda to win William Goppallawa Shield

Vidyartha College outclassed Ananda College by 51 points (9 tries, 3 conversions) to 11 points (1 try, 2 penalties) in their William Goppallawa Shield Under-19 rugby encounter which concluded at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekelle yesterday.

At the short breather winners led 34/3.

The shield encounter between the two Buddhist schools which commenced in 1967 led by the Kandy lads 30 wins to Ananda’s 21 with two games ending in draws.
