Vidyartha outplays St. Sylvester’s in rugby 

Vidyartha College outplayed their traditional rivals St. Sylvester’s College by 64 points (10 tries, 7 conversions) to 22 points (4 tries, 1 conversion) win in their annual Bertie Nillegoda and P.M.L. Banda trophy rugby encounter which concluded at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy recently.

At the short breather winners led 42/12.

H. Surantha, Ranidu Gajanayake (3), S. Sadew, Nanjana Wijesuriya (2),  Gayan Perera, Chamodh Hettiarachchi and Kavin Jayasinghe. Rusith Kumara converted 7 of them. For the losers their tries were scored by Krishan Abeykoon, R. Kreeshanthan, Viraj Devinda and R. Pavith. Pavith added extra 2 points through a conversion.

Vidyartha also made a clean sweep when they won the Under-16 and Under-14 outings as well.
