Vidyartha College continued their winning streak in the P.M.L. Banda and B. Nillegoda Trophy Under-19 rugby encounter when they outclassed St. Sylvester’s College by 62 points (9 tries, 7 conversions, 1 penalty) to 7 points (1 try, 1 conversion) at the Bogambara Stadium last weekend.
At the short breather, winners led 31/0.
The Vidyartha tries were scored by their skipper Gayan Perera (5), while one try each were scored by Hevin Karunarathne, Helana Wijethunge, Mohammed Shafeek, and Roshitha Karunarathne. Rusith Thamodya converted seven of them in addition to putting over a penalty.
Meanwhile, the Sylvester’s try was scored by Iduranga Gamage and converted by Tishan Medagedera.
The series, which started in 2010, has been a one-horse race, with Vidyartha winning all 10 of them in the series.
