Trinitian Supun Waduge was the toast of SLC Under-19 team when he expertly guided them to a three-wicket win over touring West Indies Under-19 in a one-day 50-over warm-up match played at the CCC grounds yesterday.
West Indies put into bat first were dismissed for 227 in 49 overs with Nathan Sealy making a top score of 71 balls (2 fours, 2 sixes) helping his side recover from 102-6.
Sri Lanka also floundered in their run chase losing half the side for 96 and then being 154-7 before Manula Kularatna (35* off 55 balls, 2 fours) joined Waduge (84* off 105 balls, 9 fours, 1 six) and put together an unbroken stand of 77 off 80 balls to steer them home.
West Indies Under-19 commences a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka Under-19 at Dambulla on Sunday.
