Left-arm spin all-rounder Wanuja Sahan took five wickets for 74 runs to dismiss Pakistan ‘A’ for 287 and give Sri Lanka ‘A’ a 23-run lead on the first innings on the third day of the second 4-day unofficial Test played at Rawalpindi yesterday.
Pakistan ‘A’, who started the day on 212-5, managed to add 75 runs for their last five wickets before being dismissed in reply to Sri Lanka ‘A’s first innings
of 310.
Sri Lanka ‘A’s top order again failed when they slumped to 46-4 in their second innings. But Pavan Rathnayake, in association with first innings top scorer Sonal Dinusha, resurrected the innings somewhat in an unbroken partnership of 111, that saw Sri Lanka ‘A’ end the day at 157-4, an overall lead of 180.
Rathnayake was batting on 64 scored off 109 balls (6 fours) and Dinusha followed his first innings knock of 85* with another resolute innings – 51* off 87 balls (4 fours).
Pakistan ‘A’ lead the two-match series 1-0 having won the first test by seven wickets.
