Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club A created a major upset not only to reach the final of the Cup segment but also to outplay Sri Lanka Police Sports Club A 24/0 in the final.

At the short breather, the winners led 14/0.

Air Force tries were scored by Ramith de Silva, Shashika Fernando and skipper Nuwan Perera. All three scored plus a penalty was put over by  Nuwan Perera.

Both fancied teams CH & FC and Navy SC A, both were beaten by Police SC A and Air Force A respectively to be demoted to the Plate final encounter. This event was used as a yard stick for the national selections for the next month’s Asia Rugby Sevens 2021 which will take place in UAE on 19 and 20 November. This tournament was sponsored by Dialog Axiata.

Day 2

  •  9th place play-off: Air Force ‘B’ beat Police Griffins 7/5
  • Shield Final (7th place play-off): Havelock SC beat Army Colts 25/12
  • Bowl Final (6th place play-off): Army SC A beat Navy SC B 19/17
  • Plate Final (3rd place play-off): CH & FC beat Navy SC A 26/19
  • Cup Final: Air Force ‘A’ beat Police SC ‘A’ 24/0
