Sevens rugby will be back after a lapse of more than two years with the Warrior Rugby Sevens 2021 set to be worked out at the Police Park today and tomorrow with 10 teams locking horns for honours. The National Rugby pool will be selected from these players for the next month’s Asia Rugby Sevens 2021, which will be staged in UAE.
Players from both Kandy SC and CR & FC have opted out from participating citing various valid reasons. Teams from Sri Lanka Police, Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force will field two teams each while CH & FC and Havelock SC will play with a team each at this event. Day one will be the group stage and the final day will witness with Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield encounters worked off on a knock out basis.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. The matches will be telecast live on Dialog TV, Supreme TV, Channel 20. Dialog will sponsor this event.

Pool C: Air Force A, Navy A, Police Griffins
