Wesley College rugby players were presented with a new jersey at a ceremony held at their College Hall on Friday (9) evening for their upcoming inter schools’ rugby league season which will kick start from next week.
As many as 44 players received jerseys.
They are all out to perform well this season and have been told to play with their hearts and souls and dish out their best effort in every game.
Maj. Gen. Indu Samarakoon, who is a past Wesley player of 1986 and ’87, was the chief guest at the occasion. He told the players to maintain discipline and try their best to excel in every match.
Wesley will be celebrating 150 years next year and has completed 66 years in rugby.
During the ceremony, Wesley College also announced their co- sponsors for the year 2023 - Date Crown, NoLimit and Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB).
