The 2nd Under-19 two-day encounter between Wesley College and St. Benedict’s College will be played on 25 and 26 March at the Campbell Park. The two teams first met on a cricket pitch way back in 1896 and this encounter celebrates 126 years of friendship between the two leading Institution in the country.
Both esteemed schools will organize the two events this year with the trophies are named after two famous Principals. Cartman Cup (former Principal of Wesley) Rev James Cartman and Luke Shield (former Director of St. Benedict’s) Rev Bro. Luke Gregory FSC.
The initial Cartman Cup encounter between the two schools ended in a draw but the Luke Shield could not take place due to the Covid pandemic around the globe. Wesley College is led by 5th year player plus coloursman, Sahil Dias while St. Benedict’s is led by another 5th year coloursman and wicket keeper/batter Pasan Suwahas.
