Wesley and Zahira express solidarity

Both Wesley and Zahira College, Colombo have made a joint statement on the incident that happened after the National Schools Soccer Tournament under-20 match played on 7 August at Coorey Park.

Zahira which won the game 1-0 after a close tussle over Wesley, their players were manhandled by some spectators soon after the match which resulted in Zahira players and their spectators being injured. They were later admitted to Kalubowila Teaching Hospital. The situation was brought under control after Police rushed to the scene and dispersed the crowd that was involved in the assault.

Both Principals in the joint statement condemned the incident and sought the assistance of the law enforcement authority to find the real culprits and bring them to books.
