Wesley player questioned on his eligibility

Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) called Wesley College Master in Charge to see the eligibility of a certain Wesley player who participated in their game against Zahira College last weekend in Maradana.

As per reliable information the said player joined from a B division school to Wesley and represented in their opening game in the Schools league 2024 encounter. The student’s rugby ID, 2024 League registration form, Birth certificate of player, 2021/2023, 2022/2023 O/L results and Students 2023/2024 O/L admission cards and school leaving certificate of the previously attended school were submitted by the Wesley MIC yesterday to SLSRFA.

The initial inquiry took place at Asoka Maha Vidyalaya yesterday. SLSRFA is supposed to give their final decision in writing early next week to the Education Ministry for further action.
