Winning end to longest across the country cycle race

Sri Lanka’s longest across-the-country cycle race, organised by Sri Lanka Telecom, successfully came to an end on 28 September in Dambulla. The final day men’s race started from Trincomalee and continued through Kantale, Habarana, and Inamaluwa before ending at Dambulla. 

The fifth day’s winner was Sri Lanka Air Force’s Jeewan Jayasinghe. The first runner-up was Sri Lanka Navy’s Pasindu Lakshan, whereas the second runner-up was Sri Lanka Air Force’s Madhushanka Fernando. 

The women’s race started from Kurunegala and travelled through Melsiripura and Galewela, and ended at the finish point in Dambulla. The second day’s winner was Sri Lanka Air Force’s Dinesha Dilrukshi. The first runner-up was Sri Lanka Army’s U. N. Kumarasinghe, and the second runner-up was Sri Lanka Army’s B. L. S. Dilhani. 

The first-ever competitive cycling event for juniors stared from Dambulla and went through Kekirawa, Habarana, and ended at Dambulla. The winner was T. V. K. M. Dilmina of the Stafernil Cycling Club. The first runner-up was K. D. Keshan Maduranga of the Silver Star Club. The second runner-up was A. Dinusha Saranga of the Kelani Cycling Club.
