 Navy Sports Club kicked off the Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) XV a side rugby tournament on a winning note when they got the better of Havies by 38 points (6 tries, 2 conversions, 1 penalty) to 8 points (1 try, 1 penalty) at Welisara yesterday.

At the short breather the winners led 10/8.

The Sailors’ tries were scored by Gihan Perera, Dhanjaya Seneviratne, Radheesha Seneviratne, Isuru Kangawatta (2), with one penalty and two try conversions successfully taken by Dinesh de Silva.

Meanwhile the solitary try for the Park Club was scored by Christian De Lile with Shanaka Kumara putting over the penalty.
