Trinity College’s Under 19 cricketers commenced their 2019/2020 inter-school cricket season on a winning note under national youth fast-bowler Ruvin Peiris.

They beat St. Servatius College, Matara in their opening encounter at Asgiriya Stadium which took place two weeks ago.

They are blessed with all-rounder Abishek Anandakumar, another Trinity Cricket Lion, along with skipper Peiris, who leads the team from its frontlines by spearheading its bowling attack this season. With two more coloursmen in the squad, Umair Raizan and Shane Goonethilake, Trinity will be a force to reckon with and could shock any team this season. They have Ranuda Somaratne, pacer Matheesha Pathirana who possesses a slinging action reminiscent of cricketing great Lasith Malinga and Raizan to support the team.

Trinity will once again be coached by one of their Old Boys Kavinda Jayasuriya, who is a coloursman for the upcountry lads, having scored more than 700 runs during his final school season.
