The Sri Lanka Women’s team, which secured their first Women’s Asia Cup title by beating the Indian team, was honoured by Abans for their efforts with the newest Motorola mobile phones. Accordingly, Abans took the initiative to honour the cricket champions on 1 August.
The event was held with the participation of the Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket team and team Coach Rumesh Ratnayake, while Abans PLC Chief Marketing Officer Dr. Chathura Jayawardena and Mobile Category Head Fritz Fernando represented Abans.
The Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket team beat the defending champions India by eight wickets at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on 29 July, winning Sri Lanka its maiden Asia Women’s Cup title. Harshitha Samarawickrama was named as the Player of the Match, while Chamari Athapaththu won the Player of the Tournament title.
