The young blood from the Longdon Place Club proved that they are no push overs this season when they edged out the bigger named CH and FC outfit 27/22 in a thrilling encounter at Longdon Place over the weekend.
At the short breather Red Shirts led 24/12.
Winners collected their scores from three tries, 3 conversions and 2 penalties while the CH outfit replied with 4 tries and 1 conversion. This encounter was played for Haji Omar Memorial Trophy.
The Red Shirts playing some top-class rugby scored their tries through their skipper and nippy scrum half, Kavindu de Costa, Jero Danangaya and Mursheed Doray. Yasas Kavindu did the kicking duties for the Red Shirts.
CH tries were scored by Omalka Gunaratne, Avishka Lee, Prasath Madushanka and Ganuka Dissanayake with Hirusha Sampath being on target with only one try conversion.
