Zahira College Colombo PPA organise Super 16 soccer 7s championship for 14th consecutive time

Zahira College Colombo have excelled in football for the last 10 decades and easily contributed to the sport in national level by producing players and also coaching staff. Zahira College Colombo is the most prominent school in football in Sri Lanka by arguably winning the most amount of championships for the last few decades. Past Prefects Association of Zahira College Colombo will be organising the Super 16 soccer 7s championship for the 14th consecutive time this year which will be held at Race Course International Stadium on 6 October and will be happening throughout the day.

16 leading schools from the country will be a part of this prestigious tournament for the 14th time where the youngsters will get chances and opportunities to showcase their talents, skills and abilities in football at a larger scale. Shorter formats of any sport bring a lot of excitement to the spectators, this time the format will be at 7’s format where excitement and thrilling factor of football will be a treat to watch which will eventually pull more crowd attraction towards the tournament.

The important aspect of this year’s edition is that the tournament is played at a venue where international football is played so the youngsters of the country adhere to the atmosphere of such venues and playing in front of a huge crowd. As Sri Lankan football is at a rise with the dream of qualifying for the FIFA world cup in 2030, Past Prefects’ Association of Zahira College organising a tournament in such calibre will be a big opportunity for the youngsters to perform and catch the eyes of the national authorities. This tournament will be officiated by experts in local and foreign football who are recommended by the Education Ministry and the Football Federation of Sri Lanka.
