The Zahira College Cricket Committee has organised a ‘Cricket Nite’ and felicitation of the Zahira cricketers for the first time in the history of Zahira College.
It will be held today at 7.00 p.m. at the College Abdul Gaffoor Hall. Former Sri Lankan Cricket Captain Aravinda De Silva will be the chief guest.
The Cricket Committee Chairman Zaheer Marzook and his committee has worked tirelessly to turn around the cricket team to a very remarkable position in 2018/19 season. Last year, the team positioned themselves at 34th in the tournament, eighth within their respective group.
This year, the team positioned themselves 13th in the tournament and fourth in their respective group. It was not rocket science to achieve this position in the tournament but it was all a team effort and everyone had walked their way through.
The Cricket Committee has organised the Cricket Nite with the school authorities to facilitate the cricketers and encourage the parents to participate in our walk to reach greater heights in the game of cricket.
