This year’s Isipathana College 1st XV Rugby Vice Captain and a player who could represent any numbers from 10 to 15, Shaahid Zumri will represent Kandy SC in the upcoming club rugby season.
Shaahid just completed a successful school rugby season, representing Greens 1st XV rugby team for three years, he was adjudged the All Island Under-18 and Under-19 Sevens player of the tournament in 2023. He also earned a place as a school boy in the senior national outfit which toured Nepal for the Asian Sevens Trophy.
During this season in 2024 he scored 90 points for the green jersey, a dynamic utility player, was often playing at number 10, 12 or 15 position for his school. He is also a very reliable place kicker who contributed for his team success with his boots. Zumri has played all the schools league finals during his career.
He joins Kandy SC outfit along with his current team mate Kenula Mihisara. Vidyartha Skipper, Gayan Perera and Rajans Skipper, Nimsha Peiris too are attending practices at the Up Country club.
Kandy SC will be led by Srinarth Sooriyabandara during the 2024/2025 rugby season.
