Adaptability a key for Aussies in Sri Lanka: David Hussey

Colombo, Aug.3 (ANI): Australian middle-order batsmen David Hussey has said that his Australian team-mates will have to adapt quickly to emerge victorious against one of the world’s best limited overs side, Sri Lanka, on their own patch.

“They’re definitely home-favoured wickets. A lot of spin involved, I guess the players just have to get their heads around playing in the different conditions. Facing many overs of spin and working out the zones to either clear the pickets or to run hard and get twos and threes. I think that’s the key in the limited overs form,” Hussey told AAP.

The challenge of tackling Sri Lanka has got Hussey excited, particularly after several weeks of build-up. “The vibe’s good. Rather excited. I know all the boys are rapt and ready to get the series underway and actually start playing some games,” he said. “We had the training camp in Brisbane and now we want to just get amongst it. Enough of the training, enough of the talk and just start playing some cricket. I can’t wait to get out there and actually play in Kandy,” he added. The Australians take on Sri Lanka in a T20 match on Saturday. A second and final T20 will be played on Monday with the first of five one-day matches to be played at the same venue next Wednesday
