The AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship South and Central Asia, sponsored by Samaposha the leading nutrition brand of Plenty Foods, (a subsidiary of CBL) organised by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka, concluded successfully in Colombo recently.
India emerged as the overall winner with 15 points while Iran secured the runners-up position scoring 12 points. Bangladesh that scored seven points secured the third position while the hosting Sri Lankan team was placed fourth with six points.
Amongst the invitees were; Chief Guest of the Ceremony Shirani Hewage, Plenty Foods Director/Chief Executive Officer Shammi Karunaratne, Plenty Foods Marketing General Manager Vasantha Chandrapala and key officials of AFC and FFSL graced the closing ceremony and presented awards.
Apart from Sri Lanka being the host, contingents from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran and Tajikistan took part in the tournament and, a total of 15 matches were played during the five-day festival.
