Afridi says exit was due to illness in family

In a press statement Pakistan’s international cricketer Shahid Afridi has said that his sudden and unfortunate exit from the Sri Lanka Premier League was due to an illness in his family.

“I would like to thank my management at Ruhuna Royals, the event organisers along with Sri Lanka Cricket Board for their understanding and support in this matter. I was really enjoying my game and time in Sri Lanka and will Inshallah be back for the next season of SLPL,” Afridi added in the statement released by Sri Lanka Cricket.
