Misbah retained as Pakistan’s Test and ODI skipper until ICC World Cup 2015Misbah-ul-Haq has been retained as the Pakistan captain in Tests and One-Day Internationals (ODIs) by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Misbah has been retained until the ICC World Cup 2015, despite calls for him being axed growing stronger in the wake of Pakistan’s defeat in Sri Lanka recently. Speaking about the appointments, PCB President was quoted in the press release, “In line with my policy of taking decisions democratically I consulted Cricket Committee and my Board members before announcing these decisions. I wish both Afridi and Misbah very good luck in their upcoming assignments.” Misbah has captained Pakistan since 2011 and was the successor to Afridi. Misbah took over Test captaincy in 2010 though. He is now 40 years old and many ex-cricketers have criticised him for Pakistan’s latest performances. |
