The last you heard of them, the Fire Boys, who play street cricket at the ‘Mati Park’ in Vauxhall Street, where unveiling a gigantic cricket ball mural on AIA’s Office wall space. Now, they are a national sensation!

How did this happen? If you haven’t already seen the trending viral sensation to take the internet by storm, you must! A perfect recipe of our national heroes, a cute team of budding street cricketers and a plot that truly tugs at your heartstrings, AIA’s latest viral video is a must-watch.

As the Official Insurance Partner of Sri Lanka Cricket, AIA found a way to make a dream come true. The Fire Boys, armed with not much else than undeterred grit, impressive skills and striking confidence are a team of kids who adore cricket and aspire to play for the national side when they grow-up. Our national cricketers, it goes without saying, are their undisputed idols.

That is why AIA organised a surprise friendly match for the Fire Boys, with their heroes, the Sri Lanka national team! Needless to say, it made for an experience they won’t forget, ever! And possibly enough motivation for the making of some stellar future cricketers who could bring glory to our country in time to come. All in all, a worthy and wonderful endeavour.

Launched during the Australian tour, the video was a super hit, garnering an unprecedented engagement on Facebook. It logged over 400,300 views, almost 4,500 shares and 3,900 likes, along with over 300 comments, in just a week of launching.

AIA was also first to use real time geo fencing at a match in Sri Lanka, disseminating this heartwarming video to the enthused crowds at the T20 matches of the Aussie tour, in addition to other innovative platforms of communications.
